I recently visited The Children's Hospital at Westmead to check out the handywork of the lovely staff who have Bosco-fied the hospital walls with many different BoscoBear removable room art kits.
The Opthamology Ward had been taken over by Outer Space, with a galaxy of stars, aliens, rockets and space boys and girls lining the hallways and doors. This has so far proved to be a great way to distract the children as they tend to be in the department for longer amounts of time, due to the many tests they endure.
I also visited the Burns Unit, and I found it very humbling to know that the BoscoBear stickers could brighten up the day for these beautiful little fighters. Faced with some of the most devastating burns in the state, these children at the Burns Unit and Westmead deserve as much of a distraction as possible.
Farm Yard, Under the Sea and Enchanted Forest proved to the popular choices – with the little ones able to go on an adventure with Bosco to whichever world they choose!
I also stopped by the Emergency Department. Having just been renovated, the lovely staff and I scoped out the freshly painted walls and decided on which of the many BoscoBear wall sticker designs would brighten up the lives of the kids who unfortunately have to endure long stays at the Hospital.
Once again a big thanks to everyone at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, especially Carol and Robin for showing me around such a amazing and awe inspiring hospital. Visit http://www.blogger.com/www.sch.edu.au to learn more about this great institution.
